You like ribs, right? Saturday features a Backyard BBQ contest where amateur grillers get their ribs on for 8 hours using fresh pork ribs -- yum! And you have the chance to win two tickets. How spectacular is that?
Here's a little info from the Swinetastic folks to give you an idea of what the festival is all about:
"CQue Events is happy to bring to historic Frederick, Maryland a nationally sanctioned BBQ Contest, just like you see on the Food Network and A&E’s BBQ Pitmaster’s. The Great Frederick Fairgrounds will be the setting for this great event. The festival will be a two day event with Saturday's contest being the nationally sanctioned Kansas City BBQ Society event.

And while you're at it, there will be tons of fun and talented food vendors on site really to ply you with their tasty wares. And music! And a place for the kids to play! And a beer garden! Did I also mention, the weather is supposed to be perfect???? Booyah!!
Now, just because I like to put a little icing on top of an already sweet cake, I'll also be doing a fun demo from 2:30-3:30...on stage! You know I do love an audience, and I'd love to see you there. I'll be demoing two tasty side dishes (I am no pit master and will leave that to the pros!) and will absolutely be having some fun.
So here's what you need to do:
- Leave a comment on this blog and tell me your favorite BBQ. (Isn't that easy?)
- Comments left on our Facebook page will NOT be counted (sorry!)
- We'll do a drawing Friday evening at 6p to choose the winner, so have your comment in no later than 5p, 6/14/13.
- Tickets are good for Saturday only (11a-7p)
- There is no cash value for these tickets. You get tix to a fun day. So enjoy that.
- Don't panic if you don't see your comment right away. I filter them to avoid spam so you don't have to see ads for Viagra and stuff. Don't worry -- I don't judge or edit them, I just hate all that stupid spam.

Only one? I can't choose between pulled pork and beef brisket.
Never been wronged by pulled pork, which is especially good with CQue's black raspberry sauce.
Pulled pork!
MMM I love pulled pork with coleslaw on top. YUM!
Carolina style or Brisket!
You gals are making me soooo hungry! I know one thing for sure, I'll be bringing the wetnaps!
Pork ribs done with a nice dry rub, then coated with a sweet, smoky BBQ sauce!!!! Fall off the bone tender and finger-licking good like my hubby makes!!!!
My favorite bbq is definitely pulled pork. I like it Carolina style with cole slaw. Yummy. Thanks for the chance to win!
pulled pork all the way!
My fiancé and I went to the Swinetastic BBQ Festival last year and had a blast! we loved everything about it! from the music, beer, food trucks and free BBQ samples from the contestants! We would love to go back! Our favorite BBQ is any vinegar based pulled pork sandwich with a side of chipotle cole slaw! (but lets face it.. any BBQ is mouthwatering!)

Carolina pulled pork...mmmm. The more vinegar, the better.
Carolina pulled pork! With slaw, but not the soggy mayo kind.
Pulled pork, Carolina style! With slaw, but not the soggy mayo kind.
Love me some beef brisket! How about BBQ Jalapeno poppers! Yummy!
I'm so torn - I love some Carolina chopped pork, but my heart is ALL about the beef brisket!
PS I love your blog (as a silent stalker) so thanks for the fun-forced comment contest!
I'm so torn - I love Carolina chopped pork, but my heart is stuck on beef brisket!
Thanks for the comment contest, I usually just silently STALK your blog!
My favorite is pulled pork from Duke's BBQ - a down-home place in South Carolina, just off Rt. 95 about an hour north of Hilton Head Island. After I eat 'till I'm ready to pop, I make more room for their homemade banana puddin.' And my kids like to sit on the pink pig statue outside. Yum and fun!!
Brisket is my favorite.
I love my Bar-B-Que in the form of pulled pork with the true Carolina BBQ sauce that has a mustard base to it. Don't see it in these parts, but in South Carolina that is the only way you see it. If they know you are from the North, they always let you know it is a mustard based sauce.
pulled pork and brisket...Yum!!
Mmm! BBQ - any sauce - any variety of meat...as long as its prepared well and comes with a side of CarterCue fried pickles!!!!
As a southerner, it has to be South Carolina mustard based bbq sauce on pulled pork. 'Cause nothin' beats barbecued PIG!
My favorite bbq is the one that is on my plate!
Brisket and I don't know how to cook it... maybe you could have a class????? Molly Forman
Does it count if vegetable skewers are my favorite thing on the barbecue? I'm not vegetarian, but I generally like veggies more than meat. Blasphemy, I know ;)
Love pulled pork!!
jalapeno peppers stuffed with cheese wrapped in bacon is just one of my favorite BBQ treats
A yummy Carolina style pulled pork. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!
Love mustard-based Carolina pulled pork BBQ - I really miss The Duke's BBQ in Aiken, SC. Maybe I'll find something that reminds me of it on Saturday.
I love coming home after a busy day to a crock pot full of pulled pork.
Carolina Style Pulled Pork with vinegar and red pepper based sauce - not mustard, a harder-than-hamburger roll, with a side of salt and pepper fries...just like from Blue Bus behind Snakeman's... yum!
beef brisket is my all time favorite with country ham coming in a close second!
Brisket is my absolute favorite. Nothing like slow smoked brisket to say summer is here!
Pull pork!
Pulled pork!
Used to be brisket, but pulled pork is slowly edging its way to the top. But who are we kidding? I'll happily eat them both. :-)
We have friends who make some homemade Carolina BBQ and it's the best
I love pulled pork, brisket and ribs, but if I want to go healthy, I've come up with a few tasty options, including the "sloppy hippie" - all kinds of grilled veggies tossed in spicy sloppy joe sauce, topped with health slaw made with greek yogurt.
I love something simple, a really good grilled hot dog. My family does not share my idea so I think how rarely I have one makes it special. Maureen

It has to be Pulled Pork! My parents are from Eastern North Carolina and there is definitely a rivalry between Eastern and Piedmont BBQ Sauce. No tomato in my sauce!
Instead of bacon and eggs - pulled pork and eggs. Yummy!
Naked ribs with a slightly sweet dry rub!
We have a winner...
